About the role

Fixed Term Annualised - 600-800 hours until 05/01/2020

We want to be celebrated for bringing excitement, innovation and fun to people's homes and lives.  We do this through our extraordinary products that are sold with devotion and flair.

Your main tasks will include picking stock for our  UK stores and fulfilling orders for our ecommerce customers.  You will also be involved with the intake of stock and its storage within the warehouse.

This position is a physical role  therefore you must be able to reach and bend to pick items from shelving and pallets. You need to be conscientious, accurate and numerate with a basic level of computer skills. You should be self-motivated as well as a good team player and be able to work under pressure in a fast moving environment.

The position may involve operating order picking machinery but full training will be given so no previous experience is required.

The Distribution centre works on a shift pattern rota that will include late shifts, earlies and weekend cover.  You must be available to work these hours and days for this position to be suitable for you.

About you

Essential – the ‘must haves’

  • A professional approach to work and the ability to receive, understand and carry out tasks to meet the day-to-day needs of the department
  • Certification for the range of machinery relevant to the department/area in order to fulfil the range of tasks required by the role (appropriate training will be given)
  • Excellent communication and listening skills, able to positively participate within a team
  • Good literacy and numerical skills.
  • A high level of accuracy and conscientiousness
  • Effective time management skills
  • The ability to work under pressure
  • Adaptability and reliability.

Desirable – the ‘nice to haves’  

  • Existing knowledge of Lakeland products
  • Experience of working within a warehousing environment.
