Warehouse Operative - Forklift Truck Driver

Location: Kendal Distribution Centre 

Contract: 37 Hours per Week (Permanent Contract)

Schedule: 4 Week Rota Pattern

Have you driven forklift trucks before, or are you interested in learning a new skill? We’re currently recruiting for permanent Forklift Drivers to help us replenish stock in our stores across the country.

What will your job look like?

Working in a multi-channel warehouse means there’s always lots to do and opportunity to learn new processes, so you could be:

• Driving one of our forklift trucks to pick stock for our many stores

• Unloading containers of new stock

• Completing your steps for the day, picking orders for our online customers

• Helping to keep the place tidy, unpacking returns from stores and customers

What are we looking for?

We’re looking for honest, hard-working people who are open to learning new skills and being part of a team. 

You don’t need any experience, and you don’t even need to be able to drive a car -we’ll train you fully on our forklift trucks and help you get up to speed. All we ask for in return is the enthusiasm to learn, the dedication to get the job done, and the attention to detail required to get the right stock to the right stores.

Founded in the early 60s, with the same strong values of quality and customer care now as when we first started. From selling plastic bags for home freezing from the Rayner family garage in Windermere, to over 4000 kitchen and home products today, Lakeland has grown to the extent that we now send out thousands of parcels a day from our Kendal despatch centre, and we have stores nationwide, stretching from Aberdeen to Exeter, with more in the pipeline.
