The Role

As a Commercial Finance Analyst at Lakeland, you will play a critical role in delivering accurate, timely, and insightful financial information to support business decision-making and drive commercial performance.

Reporting to the Commercial Finance Manager and support in the Head of Commercial Finance, you will act as a Finance Business Partner to key stakeholders across the business, fostering strong collaborative relationships to ensure alignment of financial and operational goals.

You will be a key contributor to the monthly management accounts process, combining the responsibilities of a Management Accountant and Finance Analyst. Your role will involve detailed analysis of financial performance, identification of trends, risks, and opportunities, and the communication of actionable insights that influence strategic and operational decisions.

With a strong commercial focus, you will provide critical support across a range of business areas, enabling informed decisions through robust financial planning, forecasting, and variance analysis. Your ability to translate complex financial data into meaningful narratives will be essential in supporting performance improvement and delivering value across the organisation.

About You

  • You’re comfortable with numbers and know your way around accounting principles,  with either an AAT qualification or part qualified CIMA, ACCA or ACA. You’ve worked with computerised finance systems before and you’re confident using Excel and other Microsoft Office tools to pull together reports, spot trends and explain what the numbers are really saying.
  • You’ve got a keen eye for detail and a real sense of ownership when it comes to your work. You like getting things done properly and on time. You’re happy working independently, solving problems as they come up, but also enjoy being part of a team where people support each other and share ideas.
  • You’re naturally curious and always looking for ways to improve how things are done. Whether it’s making a process more efficient or helping someone understand their budget better, you’re proactive and not afraid to speak up or take the lead.
  • You’ll build great relationships across the business and be comfortable having regular conversations with people at all levels. Your communication style is clear and to the point—you know how to explain financial information in a way that makes sense to everyone.
  • You’ll bring energy, enthusiasm and a positive approach to everything you do, with the confidence to take responsibility and the flexibility to adapt when things change. If you’re looking for a role where you can make a real impact and develop your career in commercial finance, this could be a great fit for you.

About Lakeland

Lakeland’s story began in the early 1960s, when we started out selling home-freezing bags from the Rayner family garage in Windermere. While we’ve grown a lot since then, our core values of quality, innovation, and exceptional customer care have remained the same.

Today, we offer over 4,000 kitchen and home products, carefully selected to make everyday life that little bit easier and more enjoyable. From our state-of-the-art despatch centre in Kendal, we send out thousands of parcels each day to customers across the UK and beyond.

With a nationwide network of stores—from Aberdeen to Exeter—and more in the pipeline, Lakeland continues to be a trusted name in homes across the country. We’re proud of our heritage, excited about our future, and committed to delivering products and service that make a real difference.

Benefits

There are plenty of great reasons to join the Lakeland team. Alongside being part of a friendly, supportive, and passionate working community, we offer a competitive salary,  a group personal pension plan to help you plan for the future.

You’ll receive 29 days’ paid holiday each year (including bank holidays), so

there’s time to relax and recharge. Plus, you’ll enjoy generous discounts on our products—perfect for treating yourself or finding the ideal gift.

We’re proud of our positive working environment, whether you’re based in our Windermere HQ or out in the wider business. It’s a place where people work hard, support each other, and genuinely enjoy what they do. We also like to celebrate success and find time to have fun, both in and outside of work.

At Lakeland, you’ll be part of a team that values contribution, encourages development, and believes in making work rewarding—both personally and professionally.
