Head of Commercial Finance

The Head of Commercial Finance’s key purpose is to provide support, guidance and direction to the Lakeland CFO, Executive Team & extended leadership team on all matters relating to financial growth and profitability, investment decisions, business planning and performance analysis and insight.

Key Accountabilities

• Leadership of the management accounting function owning the month end close and timely and accurate reporting of P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash and cost centre reporting.
• Ensure that the profit and loss accounts show an accurate representation of the financial state of the business and that sources of growth, cost and profit are understood and communicated. 
• Lead the business through all planning activity including strategic plans, critical path, annual budgeting and forecasts ensuring close co-ordination across Marketing, Buying, Operations and Retail.
• Develop a robust integrated multiyear planning model enabling long term planning and scenario analysis across P&L, Cashflow and Balance Sheet.
• Work with, support and challenge the CFO to deliver all business objectives and targets.
• Lead quarterly performance reviews with the Operations Board and their teams. Identify opportunities and risks to growth and profit and recommend appropriate courses of action. 

About You

• Qualified accountant with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a senior leadership role or equivalent high level commercial experience.
• Commercially astute with an understanding of general business principles.
• Highly analytical with a proven track record in delivering KPIs and SLAs in a fast moving commercial environment.
• A leader and influencer with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to drive engagement across functions and levels, building strong relationships
• Able to work collaboratively across functions.
