Job Purpose

As a Digital Designer, you will work closely with the Digital Design & Development Manager and Design Coordinator to produce digital assets for the Lakeland.co.uk website, Lakeland email, and social media campaigns. The role will also include, populating page templates and scheduling of campaigns in our CMS systems. The creation and maintenance of the Lakeland digital asset library and style guidelines. 

You will work with the trading and merchandising, social and email teams in the production of all digital campaigns, to ensure that the produced assets meet the original brief and that all messaging is consistent across all marketing channels. You will embrace the Lakeland values and behaviours in every aspect of your role.
 

About The Role

Drives Business Success
•    To create digital assets that adhere to the brief and have a consistent look and feel to all other messaging across store, web, email and social channels
•    To manage and organise Lakeland’s vast catalogue of digital assets
•    To create and maintain Lakeland’s digital design guidelines
•    To keep up to date with the latest design trends and techniques and asses them for adoption by Lakeland
•    To upskill Digital Web Designers to ensure the quality of our output is always at its best

Operational Excellence Design of all digital content for web, email and social media campaigns. (excluding video)
•    Design and basic build using HTML and CSS of simple responsive page layouts
•    Edit existing web content and page layouts including debugging design related issues
•    Creation and scheduling of campaign assets and landing pages in Hybris (CMS)
•    Create and maintain design process and workflow documentation
•    Quality testing and editing before assets are signed off for public view.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

Essential – the ‘must haves’
•    Advanced knowledge and experience using the Adobe creative suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Sketch)
•    Base knowledge of HTML and CSS
•    A basic understanding of how websites are constructed and managed 
•    A creative eye and a high level of attention to detail
•    Experience of working with websites and content management systems
•    The ability to manage time and work to strict deadlines
•    The ability to collaborate with other team members and 3rd parties
•    Presenting and receiving feedback about design mock ups and concepts
•    A strong self-starter who is intellectually curious 
•    Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
•    Excellent numeracy, with GCSE Maths grade C or equivalent a minimum
•    Highly computer literate

 
Desirable – the ‘nice to haves’ 
•    Experience of building websites using design frameworks such as Bootstrap
•    Experience of working as part of an ecommerce design team
•    Good understanding of SEO, both at a technical and content level
•    Good understanding of Adobe Analytics or similar analytics package
•    Good understanding of UX design
•    Numeracy based degree or further education
